For the first time this summer, we hosted the Apex Summer Program at our after school sites during the month of July — at P.S. 184 in the Chinatown area and the Corpus Christi School on the Upper West Side. Our middle school students got to choose from a slate of classes, including photography, yoga, SHSAT Prep, art, lego robotics and film. They also learned how to use an abacus, the ancient calculating tool, with Abakidz.

We also took students from both sites out to field trips together in the city! We watched the Jurassic World movie at the Times Square movie theater, and at the end of camp, we took another trip to Lucky Strike Bowling to show off our bowling skills.

During the summer program, students not only acquired new knowledge in their subjects of choice, but also learned collaboration, leadership, socialization and problem solving skills that will better prepare them for the upcoming school year. Thank you to our summer school instructors and staff, and we’ll see you in the fall!
