Thank you to all our volunteers who came out to our third annual Volunteer Field Day on Sunday, July 16! Back at Central Park in our usual field north of Sheep’s Meadow, we brought back the staples like dizzy bat, the water balloon toss, wheelbarrow, balloon waddle and tug of war, but also added new games like the water balloon draw and last year’s tic-tac-toe relay. We mixed up volutneers across programs into four teams for a full morning of festivities, followed by a peanut butter and jelly sandwich break around noon (we gussied up our brown bags this year with trail mix!). We capped off the day with some intense tug of war! Teams cheered for each other, and every team placed first in at least one activity–our program staff would be proud of the collaborative efforts and mutual support, qualities we highlight in our programs for our students. Thank you to all the volunteers for coming out on a Sunday morning, and to our Associate Board for hosting another successful Field Day! Special shoutout to Game Master Yinan and committee member John, as well as Peiwu for taking great action shots. We’ll see you next year!
